Dear Member,
Otsego Electric Cooperative/OEConnect is very concerned about the health and safety of our members and employees. We have instituted special measures to do what we can to respond to the state of emergency in New York State and to help slow down the spread of the COVID-19 virus. We encourage all to do the same. We are following the advice of our health care officials and practitioners by avoiding all physical contact, maintaining safe social distances from each other of 6 feet, washing hands, cleaning surfaces, covering our mouths with our arms when sneezing and coughing and minimizing the number of business trips to only absolutely necessary purposes. We are also still working to ensure safe and reliable electric service to our members. In the event of an outage, please let us know if you have a serious medical condition but we always advise our members to consider acquiring a generator for emergency situations. Our electric crew will continue to do routine maintenance, new service installs, and power restoration but other non-emergency work might need to wait until later when the state of emergency ends.
We have also closed our office indefinitely to minimize transmission of the virus. If you need to make payments, please pay-by-phone or use the Smart Hub application or PayNow. If you need an appointment, please call us at the general number 607-293-6622.
We are continuing to install new broadband services for now until further notice. We respectfully ask that you please make extra efforts to clean and disinfect areas where our workers will be while inside your household. If you have, or anyone in your household has a fever or cough, or if you have been exposed to the virus, or if you have tested positive for the flu or the COVID-19 virus, or if you or anyone has traveled overseas recently, please contact us immediately as we will need to postpone our service installation. Also, if you have a compromised immune system, we should not install your service at this time.
Please be assured that we are here to serve and we are concerned about our members and our neighbors. Please let us know if you can help in any way.
Sincerely,
Timothy R. Johnson, CEO
