January 2019 Fiber Update

OEConnect has made a lot of progress within the last couple of months. We now have three internet accounts active that we are testing as well as two phones programmed. We will add ten more test accounts in the Laurens substation area in the next couple of weeks.

We are currently running main-line fiber in addition to programming communication shelters around our system. Our new billing software is also progressing and will be ready soon.

We began construction of the OEConnect Broadband network in the spring of 2018 and over 300 miles of mainline fiber has been built. We also installed seven communication shelters at our substations and provisioned them with communication equipment. We have live connectivity to some of them and we are working on the getting the others online. We will have our main communication ring completed very soon. We are looking forward to 2019. Development is moving fast now and we hope to have many consumers hooked up this year!
